So excited to share the latest Earth Priestess Podcast episode featuring the beautiful Spring Washam! She really offers a unique blend of mindfulness practices aimed at nurturing love and compassion.
Spring is a visionary leader and healer who seamlessly integrates Buddhist teachings with indigenous wisdom to foster both personal and collective liberation. I first met her at Spirit Rock Meditation Center, where she taught Metta (a practice that dissolves barriers of judgment and fear, fostering joy, kindness, and compassion). In 2015, I followed her to Peru, having participated in just one ceremony previously in Santa Rosa, California. Little did I know, I was in for a profound surprise—a deep spiritual immersion and a powerful meeting with my Deep Self.
This conversation delves into the transformative power of Ayahuasca within the context of Buddhist wisdom, exploring the feminine expression of liberation, spiritual awakening, and Earth connection through Tara—the goddess of compassion, wisdom, and protection... basically, The Infinite herself ♡
As you'll see in this conversation, Spring Washam creates a welcoming environment that is diverse, equitable, inclusive, and anti-racist. She promotes liberation, personal and interpersonal healing, and social action within a supportive, judgment-free community, exemplified by her founding of the East Bay Meditation Society.
While I found eight ceremonies in 12 days to be intense, Spring had sat through 100 journeys that year! I’m definitely not recommending Ayahuasca to anyone, nor is Spring in this episode. We agree that it's important to prepare, prepare, prepare if you feel the calling, as it’s far more likely to initiate a dark night of the soul than offer the conscious tidying up one might experience through Depth-oriented Therapy or through daily Meditation. However, if you feel a deep calling to this path, and have the capacity to delve deeper into the unknown within, I truly see Spring as one of the guardians of this realm. There is no other way I know of to receive such powerful images, archetypal experiences, and deep, deep understanding of ancestral roots so I very much admire her commitment to it.
